Hand-carving depicts two monkeys frolicking and perhaps foraging for food near the base of a tree. The monkeys are carved from unpolished agate, allowing them to stand out against the vegetation, which is highly polished. The carving is set in sterling silver with ruby, garnet, and tourmaline.
