Antique Cameo Statement Collar
Description:FROM MARS & VALENTINE
Price:$4800.00
This extraordinary shell cameo was carved in Italy in the 1860's by an unknown master carver, evident in the brilliant execution of this rare left-facing figure. It depicts an aristocratic lady in her garden with a lily plant, historic symbol of purity. She holds a piece of fruit in her hand as she faces her pergola and ancient twisted vines. The cameo is set with white pearls, another symbol of purity, and white topaz stones. Additional pearls are found on the bale. The cream and caramel colors in this exquisite cameo are quite remarkable and highlight the relief of the carving. The strength implied by the sterling silver and brass chain collar speak to the inner strength of the lady.

The cameo in its substantial sterling silver frame is 2 3/4" long x 2 1/8" wide. Measurements include the stones. The finished length of the cameo and bale is 5 1/8".

The collar is 19 3/8" long x 1 1/8" wide and is composed of sterling silver and brass chain. Closure is a front toggle clasp.
