This magnificent statement collar is composed of tourmaline quartz, fresh water pearl, mother of pearl, hematite, hand carved black onyx, white topaz, and sterling silver. Tourmaline quartz, among its many properties, balances yin/yang energies.
The spectacular hand-carved pendant depicts Quan Yin, the Goddess of mercy and compassion. There are many variations to the legend of Quan Yin. One version states that Kwan Yin was a female Buddhist who,through her great love of humankind and her personal sacrifice, could have entered Nirvana, but after hearing all the anguished cries of the world, chose to remain on earth and perform acts of compassion and caring.
Her many arms depict her various functions in the effort to aid those who struggle with the burdens of human life.
Length is adjustable from 19 1/2" to 22". The pendant drops 2 7/8" below the line of the necklace. The pendant measures 2 1/4" wide x 1/2" high.
